Lives and works in Boston, Massachusetts

My paintings project possible communities of women by drawing from both a historical and imaginative past, present and future. Utilizing imagery and ideologies from The Woman’s Land Army as well as inspiration from literature and contemporary culture, I address the space in which perceptual reality and imagination converge. With this particular series, the women are constructing nest-like structures, inspired by the bowers of Satin Bowerbirds. These are spaces that are both domestic and wild and engage ideas of ritual and practice.
