Jamie Romanet: In Search for Existential Truths

Jamie Romanet: In Search for Existential Truths

Lives and works in France

Painting is a vehicle for me to search for existential truths, and mine my own inner geography. It is an excavation of sorts, a constant digging, of anxieties, traumas, memories, dreams, other lands and places and times. It is my way to control my anxiety and the waves of emotions I can experience in this modern world. My portrait work and recents works on maps using stitching and paint is my attempt to connect with the current pulse of this world which is at once beautiful, as it is painful.
