Lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia
—
The fugitive nature of memory is a constant theme in my work. I photograph to remember what I can still see. I create small sculptures and installations to try and recover what I have lost. I was raised on a steady diet of tall tales centered around my family’s southern gothic roots. Being immersed in family lore has given me a great deal of pleasure, largely, because the mundane details of their lives were washed out in the retelling of tales. I am more interested in how the past looks filtered through my imagination, than I am in straight facts. I often use found objects as a way of using memory to recreate the past.
