Marina Heintze: The Body is the Field

Marina Heintze: The Body is the Field

Lives and works in Los Angeles, California

Heintze's configurations spotlight the breakdown of sexuality in the form of a trending anatomical communication. Assigning symbolic meaning to the posing while disregarding the psychological need for landscape. The body is the field. Always a moving target and without a doubt, riddled by an uncomplicated notion of the human condition as a fragile crime scene. From social media to physical roadways her chosen patterns are inherently peppered with sexual ideologies, imbalanced classical connotations, and epigenetic trauma. Steeped in the indexicality of violent personal experience and the persecution of her ancestors, Heintze’s extractions and combinations achieve rare transmutation.
